Common questions

How plans fit real venues.

  • Do guests need to pay or install an app?

No. People in the room scan a QR code, open the session in their browser, pick a language, and follow along. Pricing is for hosts and organisations.

  • What do we get on the free trial?

Signing up starts a 14-day free trial with 180 session minutes, up to 10 translation languages, one session live at a time, and the same 120-minute maximum session length as the paid plans. You aren't required to give any payment details until you want to upgrade to a paid plan.

  • How does billing work, and can we cancel?

Plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account or by emailing us; you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. Published prices are the total you pay — no VAT is added later. We currently sell to customers with a UK billing address.

  • Can we start small and upgrade later?

Yes. Start with the smallest bundle of minutes, and move to a larger one later if you need to. When you upgrade, any time remaining in the month that you have already paid for will be credited against the first month of the new bundle, so you don't lose anything by upgrading.

  • Can we move to a smaller bundle later?

Yes. You can move to a smaller bundle later if you need to. Your current bundle keeps running to the end of the month you have already paid for, and the smaller one starts when that month renews.

  • What counts as a session?

A session represents the thing you want translating, for example, one session for a morning service and one for an evening service. Each session will have its own unique access code so guests can join the correct one with the link or QR code. Simultaneous sessions are how many can be live at the same time, not how many you can create overall.

  • What are session minutes?

Session minutes are the number of minutes the session is live for, regardless of the number of languages being translated. An hour live uses 60 session minutes whether you serve one language or ten. Pausing stops the meter. A session left with no one listening pauses itself, and can end itself if you turn that on in its settings. An English-only session still uses session minutes. We round the last part-minute of a session up to the next 10 seconds, and nothing else. Included minutes reset each billing period and do not roll over; extra minutes do carry over.

  • What are language minutes?

Language minutes are session minutes multiplied by the number of languages being translated, which is the unit some other services typically bill. We bill session minutes, so an hour with ten languages uses 60 session minutes here (600 language minutes). Each plan notes that equivalent at its ten-language ceiling.
