Audio Setup

Parlabase is designed to work with a range of audio setups, some of which we will touch on below. The most important thing for getting accurate transcription and translation is having a clean audio source. Parlabase includes a few tools that can help clean up the audio but it is no substitute for good clean audio from the start.

Audio Source

When you first create a session you will need to give Parlabase access to the audio input on the device you are using.

Whatever the source, the device running Parlabase has to stay awake while you are live. On a phone, which is also the microphone, keep the screen on and stay in Parlabase, as a locked screen or another app in front can stop the audio reaching it. On a laptop, keep it awake with the lid open. Start with enough battery for the service, and plug in if you need to.
